Africa
Human life, which is understood to have begun in Africa, developed over millions of years and radiated beyond the continent of Africa. The earliest African art dates to 77,000 years ago. While interpretation of this art is conjectural at best, the clarity and strength of design and expression in the work is obvious.

- And this: "What is African Art" from the British Museum. (It is written for teachers but please read throughout. Play close attention (maybe even jot down a few notes ;) to sections on woodcarving, masks, and costumes)
- We will start with the presentations and Art Sheets on Friday. Assignments are listed below. Please read/watch the Khan Academy link below to be ready to present on your assigned work beginning on Monday. The order may be slightly askew so please be ready to go in case :)
